Background: 1) To investigate the making of Art Works. 2) Recognise relationships between art, artist and context. 3) Research and respond to art works. 4) Explore social contexts of art works and how people respond to them. 5) To identify analyse and discuss an art work. Students will be able to: 2.1) Analyse style in art 2.2) Examine subjects and themes in art 2.3) Examine techniques used in art. 2.4) Examine an art movement 2.6) Examine art Works in their Environment. Course content may involve: Art of the Pacific/Cubism and Optional Choice; MaoriArt/Taonga; Art in Aotearoa (19th Century to present); New Zealand architecture; French Art Neo-Classicism to Post Impressionism.

Friday 10th September - students released 1.50pm
On Friday 10 September students will be released at 1.50pm so that staff can have professional development. As usual, we appreciate students going straight home and not into town. Buses will run as normal and the Library will be open until 4.30pm.
