On Wednesday 8 September we are fortunate to be included in a drug awareness education programme which is sponsored by Fuji Xerox in association with Methcon Group.
Each year group will attend a one hour presentation titled ‘You Can Make a Difference’, on Methamphetamine and Drug Awareness. The programme is health based and focuses on understanding normal brain function and the way in which P and other drugs cause chemical dependence while masking the growing addiction with an artificial high.
The aim of the programme is to positively empower our young people and provide students, supported by parents and teachers with a level of knowledge, awareness and strategies to help them make more informed self motivated decisions to reject drug use and ‘be above the high’.
The objective is to provide students with a hard-hitting relevant and comprehensive understanding of Methamphetamine and the implications of this drug and others, to themselves their family and friends and the community they live in.
The schedule will be: 9.00am Year 10
10.05am Year 11
11.50am Year 9
12.50pm Year 12
1.50pm Year 13
If you would like to attend any one of these presentations you are welcome to come to the Hall. If you do not wish your son/daughter to attend please phone the Student Centre (349 0177).
